Talking points: This wine is produced under the umbrella of Le Prieure Saint Sever by negotiant and winemaker Thierry Rodriguez. Stratageme is a collection of closely guarded proprietary blends intended to capture the essence of place more than expression of fruit. In this white, the Argile refers to the clay soils and resultant terroir. Calcareous clay soils which produce this wine are fairly deep, allowing the vines to develop a strong root system, thus fostering regular growth and slow ripening.
Tasting notes: This medium-bodied white blend shows aromas of citrus fruit and white flowers (similar to Viognier). The same citrus notes carry through on the palate and hints of white fruit come forward.
Serving suggestions: Argile pairs well with seafood, especially Mediterranean influenced dishes.
