Special Friday Tasting

Join us this Friday and sample R Wine’s, Grateful Palate selections. These are food friendly, great anytime wines from Australia. Come to our WaterColor store for an expanded tasting (15 wines instead of the usual 10) and meet the man that put Australian wine on the American map, Dan Philips. Dan has been importing world class, ultra-premium Aussie wines since 1997.

Sparkling Grenache; Australia – Sweet, boiled lollies, confectionary nose, some cinnamon spice. This follows onto the palate, with some juby, creamy, confectionary flavors. Good weight and length on finish.

Shiraz; Australia – Typically dense and vibrant in color along with strong sweet fruit on the nose. The fruit is reminiscent of plum and blackberry with a rustic earthy character adding an extra dimension to the nose. Its great strength is in the palate, mouth filling and long with the distinct mocha characters derived from oak complimenting ripe berry fruit and cinnamon spice flavors leading to a beautiful palate length and structure.

Shiraz, Mourvedre, Grenache; Australia – complex nose of black fruits, lavender, acacia flowers, vanilla, and sweet red as well as black fruits, this gorgeous blend sees no new oak, being aged completely in neutral French barrels for approximately one year prior to bottling.

Port; Australia – Its light to medium ruby hue is accompanied by an extraordinary bouquet of sweet candied fruit intermixed with notions of maple syrup, earth, and hazelnuts.
